InTouchNow raises £2.3m to take its AI receptionist to more NHS GP surgeries
Ada Ventures leads the seed round for the former NHS call centre turned AI voice agent company.
InTouchNow, which builds an AI voice receptionist for NHS GP surgeries, has raised £2.3 million in seed funding, the company announced on 21 September.
The round was led by Ada Ventures, with participation from Exceptional Ventures and Kadmos Capital. InTouchNow says it is one of Ada Ventures' largest cheques to date, and the first venture capital investment into an AI voice agent operating in the NHS.
The company did not start out in AI. "We've come a long way from our beginning as a human call centre supporting NHS services, but that experience still shapes everything we do with AI today," InTouchNow said in its announcement. Its AI receptionist answers patient calls to GP surgeries.
Where the money goes
InTouchNow says the funding will go into:
- Its AI and speech models
- Expanded multilingual capabilities
- Deeper integrations with GP electronic patient record systems
- Information governance and clinical safety
- New distribution partnerships to reach more GP practices and patients across the UK
