YouTube launches chatbot to manage hacked account queries
There is nothing more frustrating than being locked out of your digital accounts – and, I can imagine that frustration hits a new level when that account is your primary means of revenue generation, as it is for so many YouTubers.
Danny Gallagher over at Engadget wrote a post announcing this feature. Here's a paragraph from it:
YouTube added a new AI assistant feature that allows users who have been hacked to recover their accounts and safeguard them from future invasions. An announcement for the new help feature appeared earlier today on Google’s support page for YouTube.
Conversational AI is perfect for this kind of use case when there is a defined, straight-forward (but important) set of procedures to be followed – and when this needs to be done at scale.
This is a very useful proof point to remember when you're talking to clients and executives: Google has a Virtual Assistant to manage the locked/hacked accounts issue.
Good work Google!
