Webio automates payments and debt with Conversational AI
Vish Gain over at Silicon Republic has published an interview with the team behind the customer engagement platform service Webio. I recommend reading the whole piece.
Here's a snippet:
Aimed at companies in financial services, utilities and large-scale retail sectors, the conversational AI platform allows customers to connect through SMS, WhatsApp, Webchat or an online portal to perform a range of tasks, from delaying payments and changing payment dates to setting up new repayment arrangements.
I've seen this be an incredibly effective method of engaging with customers, especially those who have some kind of challenge related to payments - debt management for example.
Anecdotally, I've seen examples where customers are far more likely – and happier – to engage in a conversation with a chatbot, rather than a human. I wonder if it's the lack of judgement inherent in an outreach message from a chatbot?
We will see more and more of this type of capability introduced into the market as Webio and competitors take the narrative to their customers.
If you'd like to connect with the Webio team for a conversation, here's the LinkedIn profile of their co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Paul Sweeney:
