NatWest Launches Agentic AI Money Management with Cora, Powered by OpenAI

I wrote a while back about NatWest's enterprise agreement with OpenAI and whilst there was quite a lot of news yesterday from the bank around AI, this specific announcement caught my attention.

It was posted on LinkedIn by Miles Hillier, the bank's Chief Product & Technology Officer for AI. He writes:

Really proud to see NatWest Group become one of the first banks globally to launch hashtag#AgenticAI with our customers to help them with money management.

In this Beta, customers will be able to ask questions about their recent spending, in their own words providing a hyper personalised view of how they spend their money, progress with budget goals and more.

Cora was UK banking’s first chatbot service back in 2017, amongst the first to move into the Generative AI era with Cora+ in 2024 and now is unlocking more opportunity to serve customers better & differently as we enter the Agentic AI era. This is just the start, and I’m excited to develop our capabilities further as we move towards a more personalised and intelligent digital experience for our customers.

Thanks to OpenAI for their support as part of our strategic collaboration, developing and launching this feature has been a huge team effort across the bank thank you to each and every one of you.

Very exciting. I think we're going to see a lot more of this in due course from many banks!

Nicely done Miles & team!
