Cognigy wins ERGO Group's 25-country Conversational AI deal

The client news was initially announced by Cognigy on 29th May 2024. I made a note of this one and reminded myself this weekend I wanted to make sure it was on your radar, especially if you've been following the work of Cognigy (and their $100M Series C - more on that later).

ERGO Group, if you haven't come across them before, is one of the largest insurance groups in Europe, based in Germany. They have a presence in 25+ countries, about 38,700 employees and revenues of 20 billion Euro in 2023. In Germany, the company offers a variety of insurance in life, property and health categories. So, they're big.

The Cognigy release highlights that:

ERGO Group accelerates its AI-based Phone- and Chatbots in customer service by using the Cognigy platform. Through the groundbreaking combination of Generative and Conversational AI, Cognigy empowers ERGO to develop and implement multiple next-gen AI Agents for customer service across voice and chat channels.

The key focus for the partnership is to optimise query resolution (from end customers, I'd imagine) and drive overall service efficiency.

They quote Nicholas Konnerth, ERGO Group's Head of Voice thus:
