Are you looking beyond ChatGPT? What's your personal AI strategy and toolset?

I'm a premium subscriber to ChatGPT. I have been for quite a while. It's been my default.

I also use Pi on my phone, along with Perplexity. Claude too. Oh, and I'm a Copilot subscriber on my family Microsoft account (I couldn't bring myself to commit to a full year on my Enterprise 365 account).

It was only recently that I read a recommendation from someone – I think it was on LinkedIn – who strongly suggested that you should regularly try out different models, sometimes with the same ask. The writer even highlighted they regularly stopped and started subscriptions based on the utility they were experiencing.

That approach struck me as a rather good idea.

So I resolved to put this into action the next time I reached for ChatGPT. I'm still a subscriber, but recently I thought I should give Claude a go, not least because I hadn't used it that much, properly.

It was superb.

That's not to say it's better.

I don't think I'm any position to judge what's better.

I was just different, and it answered my queries in a slightly different way to ChatGPT.

I was so impressed that I click-clicked and subscribed, not just to lift the limitations but also as a way of voting with my cash. Good work team Claude and team Anthropic.

At the same moment, I headed over to Microsoft Copilot and switched off that subscription for the time being.

But earlier today I sat down with Copilot and asked it to make me an image for this article and was astonished by the 'Designer' capabilities they've added. It's exceptionally powerful. I just didn't know. You look away for one minute...

So: What are you using? What's your default toolset? What's your methodology? What's your workflow? I'm curious: I'd really like to know.
